Ibbotson crashed to the ground at the 19-minute mark of the second term in a marking contest and was helped from the ground by trainers as his arm dangled.
He was rushed straight to the rooms and will play no further part against Essendon.
Ibbotson’s injury came shortly after Bomber Courtenay Dempsey was reported for striking Fremantle’s Hayden Ballantyne.
