In season 2008, Dale Thomas played in 22 games averaging 16 disposals, six marks and one goal per game. At only 21 years of age he has already amassed 63 career AFL games and has played in three finals campaigns.
“On a whole there are a lot of positives that will come from the year,” Thomas told collingwoodfc.com.au.
“Obviously we didn’t make it to the Grand Final which is why you play the game. So it was a bit disappointing on that level.”
Thomas acknowledged the young players who have made their contribution on the field this season.
“As I say a lot of young players have got finals experience and match experience so it’s just little things like that that you can take out of the year I think will help us going forward.”
Overall pick two in the 2004 draft, Thomas has worked on adding a midfield role into his game.
“I think I will look forward to having a good preseason. Work really hard and get the endurance levels up. Hopefully I will get a go through the midfield next year and really try to cement a spot there.”
