WITH round five approaching, many optimistic coaches were hoping to see Josh Kelly named for GWS after missing last week with a groin complaint. This wasn’t to be and now the star Giant must be traded after coach Leon Cameron stated that this issue has been ongoing from 2017 and he could miss more weeks.

After his worst game with the Suns and scoring just 29 points, Nick Holman will have many coaches sweating when extended squads are finalised on Friday afternoon. With 41 per cent ownership and with many coaches fielding the former Blue, some last-minute decisions will need to be made if he doesn’t make the final team.

Matthew Kreuzer was a shock omission from the Blues along with the out of form Jacob Weitering. Both former No.1 draft picks have been sidelined with injuries. The Eagles have named tagger Mark Hutchings, who will have his eyes fixed on Carlton’s young gun Patrick Cripps, who has struggled in recent weeks with scores of 76 and 89.  

Trade targets Nick Coffield and Jordan Cunico held their respective positions as Fremantle unearthed another young player by the name of Taylin Duman. Duman had 28 disposals and 10 marks in the WAFL last week and looks like an exciting prospect in defence at only $170K.

Get them in

Matt Guelfi (FWD, $193,000) had a sensational debut and looks built to produce on the big stage on Anzac Day. He is currently the most traded in player following his score of 64 and his break-even of just two suggests there is plenty of money to be made from the young Bomber. 

Jordan Cunico (MID, $259,000) played his second game in two years for the Cats on the weekend and pumped out a handy 97 which included two goals against the lowly Saints. Although we can’t expect that every week, coaches have seen enough to make him the second most popular option this week.

Paul Seedsman (DEF/MID, $575,000) is on the list again, this time as the fourth most popular option. He just keeps getting it done off the half-back line with scores of 101 and 119 coming in the last two weeks. He is in career best form and a viable option despite a tough match-up against the Swans.

Move them on

Daniel Venables (FWD, $245,000) has been a popular rookie choice, but unfortunately has gone down with a long term leg injury, making him the most popular trade out option. He has increased by $75,000, falling short of fully fattening, but what can we do?

Andrew Brayshaw (MID, $317,000) coaches who are luxury trading Brayshaw must be in a nice position, given the fact that he is at least playing each week. He is scoring poorly and his break-even is rising however, which has 3928 coaches taking their cash and running.

Nick Holman (MID, $344,000) has been named on the extended bench after an absolute stinker last week. Unfortunately, there are some big name alongside him on that bench and he looks a certainty to be dropped. Unfortunate really, as the Suns have a nice match up against the Lions.

Tom Mitchell – Stay strong coaches. Yes, he was tagged to 83 last week. Yes, he will be tagged by Jacobs again. However, our pig averaged 120 last year when he was tagged in 2017 and loves playing under the Etihad roof where he scored 120 and 143 in his last two games.

Patrick Dangerfield – Even though Dangerfield only scored 28 in the second half last week, he still is a great option. He scored 125 against Port Adelaide last year and since joining the Cats he has averaged 120+ on his old home ground, Adelaide Oval.

Stephen Coniglio – Super option this week based on his form and the fact he has scored 115, 123 and 132 against the Saints in his last three games.

Bryce Gibbs – With a low score of 113 this year, Gibbs just keeps getting it done. A daunting task against the Swans at the SCG, but he’ll be fine. 

Steele Sidebottom – Anzac Day specialist. Steele has been on fire scoring 137 and 130 in his last two games and even posted a solid 108 on the Bombers last year.
