In 2010, Tabcorp has partnered with the Tigers in the Community Foundation and Richmond Football Club’s Social Justice programs.

The partnership has delivered a number of initiatives during the year, supporting community organisations including Very Special Kids and St Mary’s House of Welcome.

“Tabcorp is proud to be involved in the Tigers in the Community Foundation as the Richmond Football Club’s social justice partner,” Tabcorp Executive General Manager Corporate and Legal Kerry Willcock said.

“Many Tabcorp employees have welcomed the opportunity to participate and give back to the community as part of the program, by contributing to a book drive or volunteering at St Mary’s House of Welcome and the Very Special Kids family day.

“Richmond is a leader when it comes to its work in the community sector. Tabcorp shares the Tigers’ commitment of bringing communities together in a way that delivers positive and lasting change for those in need.”

Richmond CEO Brendon Gale said:  “We would like to thank Tabcorp and its staff for their outstanding contribution and commitment to volunteering in the community.”

“Our partnership allows us to deliver positive social justice outcomes in the community.”

Tabcorp Activities have included:

- Volunteers supporting the Very Special Kids Day at Punt Road oval - from running the tackle bags, car parking, sausage sizzle, animal zoo and more

- Tin rattling (about 50 staff) at the Hawks Rd 8 game for St Mary’s fundraising efforts (raised $2K and also promoted St Mary’s House of Welcome)

- Serving at St Mary’s kitchen weekdays (also additional volunteer hours on weekends)

- A book drive where hundreds (approx 1,000) books were donated to RFC/Foundation for us to give to disadvantaged kids to read as a part of their reading programs and driving improved literacy.
