FREMANTLE'S star recruit Kellie Gibson could miss the entire NAB AFL Women's season after injuring her hip flexor in Saturday night's practice match.
The 21-year-old is expected to miss 6-8 weeks after leaving the ground a few minutes into the third quarter against Adelaide.
The best-case scenario would see Gibson back in round five of the seven-week season.
Gibson returned to Perth after playing for the Crows in the first AFLW season as a marquee player, and the Dockers had high hopes for the explosive midfielder.
Despite the 12-point win over the reigning premiers, it wasn't a great night on the injury front for Fremantle, which will also be without rookie Beatrice Devlyn for 4-6 weeks.
On Monday, Devlyn underwent surgery to repair a finger she broke in the second quarter of the match.
The Dockers will also be missing Kiara Bowers for the first few weeks of the season, as she continues her recovery from a knee reconstruction. Kirby Bentley is also out for the season with a torn meniscus, but she was ruled out early enough to allow the club to select an extra player, Tayla McAuliffe, as cover in the NAB AFLW Rookie Draft.
Fremantle will be able to promote rookies Lisa Webb and Jade De Melo to the senior list to cover for Gibson and Bowers while they are injured.
