PORT Adelaide utility Chad Cornes says he will be sidelined until at least round nine of the AFL season because of a broken finger.
Cornes had surgery on Sunday to repair the ring finger on his right hand which was broken during Port's win over St Kilda on Saturday night.
Cornes confirmed on Tuesday he would miss the AFL's Dream Team game against Victoria at the MCG on Saturday May 10.
"There were bits of bone and bits and pieces everywhere," Cornes said of his injury.
"They put a plate across the top of the break and six or seven screws in it as well, so it was a pretty decent break."
Cornes said the earliest he could return was Port Adelaide's home fixture against Sydney on May 24.
