THE BIG boys came out to play this week with five players scoring over 140, helping many coaches to their best score for a number of weeks. Next week we get a soft introduction to the byes with the Power and the Suns taking the round off and it is a swift reminder that our trades over the next couple of weeks should take into account our current structure.

Fantasy Pig

He can be a rollercoaster at times, but it’s games like Saturday night against the Dockers that make the bad ones bearable. Jake Lloyd was everywhere, but extremely prominent across half-back, taking an impressive 15 marks to go with his 41 possessions and a goal for a round-high 163. He is owned by less than 30 per cent of the competition but that is expected to rise on the back of the reminder about his impressive ceiling.

Honourable mention: Jack Darling is in career-best form and that continued against the Tigers with one of the most dominant performances from a big man this season. He had 20 kicks and took a whopping 15 marks while kicking a lazy six goals for 151 to become an unlikely target in Classic and he would have been one of the year's biggest bargains in Draft.

Honourable mention: After an indifferent month where the Pig has struggled with a tag and even earned a mention in the 'Rage trades' section, Tom Mitchell reminded us why he is in fact one of the best of all time. He was outstanding against the Lions with 149 from 46 touches, five marks, four tackles and a goal. Order has been restored.

Rage trades

With Tom Rockliff back firing in the midfield, we knew that Robbie Gray would be spending more time forward, but to play 97 per cent of the game against the lowly Suns and manage just 15 touches, one mark and no goals for a score of 61 is cause for serious concern. As long as the Power mids are fit, Gray will continue to predominantly play this role and although he will be handy through the byes for his current owners, coaches would be game to bring him in.

Honourable mention: For what it’s worth, I am not comfortable doing this to the GOAT Gary Ablett, but I don’t recall a score like this from the great man that wasn’t caused by injury. Many Draft coaches were happy to have the Little Master back the last two weeks but it left a sour taste this week as Gaz collected just 17 possessions and took one mark for 47 points. I am expecting a big response this week … poor Carlton.

FROM THE TWOS: Dropped Dons respond

Piglet

With all the Bomber rookie hype surrounding Dylan Clarke who finished with nine disposals and 46, it was in fact Jordan Ridley who showed the way with an impressive 25 possessions at 80 per cent efficiency, while taking seven marks for 89 points. He will be a popular downgrade target for the backline this week.

THINGS WE LEARNED: Hodgey's not done

Fantasy mailbag

Oh the humanity! That is absolutely brutal, so unlucky… or lucky depending on which side of the match-up you are. Unbelievable.

Not having a good run the big fella. Warnie will have a field day on him in the Podcast.

Well done, legend! Warnie needs to lift.

If you thought Yeo was theatrical, you should have seen Warnie’s sooky text messages to our group chat. Priceless!

I would probably hold for now and offload for his bye round. Easy to say as a non-owner though.
