BACKS

– The 182cm defender played his best match for the season – highlighted by his 25 disposals and four contested marks from 12 grabs. His dash was again on show, with a game-high six rebound 50s. He also laid five tackles.

Luke McPharlin (Fremantle) – The Freo tall kept Matthew Richardson in check for much of the match, although the Tiger superstar kicked two goals in the final term. McPharlin finished with 18 touches and 11 marks to Richo's 18 disposals and 10 grabs.

Brent Guerra (Hawthorn)
– Provided outstanding drive from the defensive 50. Guerra amassed 32 disposals and managed an equal round-high nine rebound 50s against West Coast. He rivalled teammate Jordan Lewis as Hawthorn's best.

HALF BACKS
Andrew McLeod (Adelaide)
– The dual Norm Smith Medallist was clearly Adelaide's best in its loss against St Kilda, winning 26 disposals and managing nine rebound 50s.

Sam Fisher (St Kilda) – On the back of his fine performance against Fremantle skipper Matthew Pavlich, the vastly underrated defender played another beauty against the Crows, claiming 23 disposals and nine marks, including four contested.

Brendon Goddard (St Kilda) – Producing one of his best displays since he seriously injured his knee last year, Goddard finished with 30 touches, including a game-high 10 contested possessions. He also won seven clearances and kicked two goals.

CENTRES
Scott Pendlebury (Collingwood)
– Played one of his best matches for the season, winning 28 disposals, including nine contested, against the Swans. He also finished with four inside 50s, five clearances and four tackles.

Jimmy Bartel (Geelong) – His push for back-to-back Brownlow Medals continues after he starred against North Melbourne with an equal game-high 37 disposals. He also won seven clearances, had six inside 50s and took 11 marks.

Leigh Montagna (St Kilda) – Rivalling teammate Brendon Goddard for best-on-ground honours, Montagna was instrumental in his side's win over the Crows. He used the ball beautifully in collecting 31 disposals, including nine contested.

HALF-FORWARDS
Mitch Hahn (Western Bulldogs)
– Kicked a career-best six goals and played his best match for the Bulldogs. Hahn's marking was a feature of his game, with six of his eight grabs contested. Twelve of his 16 disposals were contested.

Travis Cloke (Collingwood)
– On the back of booting four goals and shining against Port Adelaide, the key forward and reigning Copeland Trophy winner played another fine game against the Swans, registering five majors.

Brad Johnson (Western Bulldogs) – The skipper was excellent in attack, kicking four goals to give him 47 for the season, while he also managed three scoring assists. He also finished with 19 touches against the Bombers.

FORWARDS
Paul Chapman (Geelong)
– After missing the past three matches with a hamstring injury, 'Chappy' returned to play a top game against the Roos. He collected 25 disposals, booted four goals and had three scoring assists.

David Hale (North Melbourne) – After a fine performance against the Blues, Hale produced his best game for North Melbourne, booting eight goals against the Cats. His marking was a highlight, with four of his eight grabs contested.

Daniel Bradshaw (Brisbane Lions) – Continued his outstanding season with six majors, including four in the third quarter, giving him 73 goals for the season. He remains third – and three ahead of teammate Jonathan Brown – in the AFL goalkicking tally.

FOLLOWERS
Brad Ottens (Geelong)
– Produced his best match for the season after missing the opening nine rounds with an ankle injury, Ottens shone against the Roos with three goals, 22 hit outs and 15 touches. His run-down chase on Brent Harvey was also a highlight.

Shane Tuck (Richmond) – After a slow first half of the season, Tuck's second half of 2008 has been among the most consistent in the competition. His game-high 31-disposal and two-goal effort against Fremantle was his best match for the year.

Peter Burgoyne (Port Adelaide) – Unquestionably his finest performance for the Power this season. Burgoyne was outstanding in the middle, winning 37 disposals, including 12 contested. He also had seven clearances and seven inside 50s and booted two goals.
