West Coast Eagles Captain’s Club members were welcomed to the Bill Walker Room on Sunday for the Platinum Luncheon.

Hosted by Channel Nine’s Michael Thomson, the event gave members the chance to enjoy guest speakers before the 25th year anniversary match against Richmond.

Anthony Koutoufides was the most anticipated speaker, with the AFL legend giving a touching tribute to the support of his mother and late father.

Koutoufides then entertained members with tales of life after football, including his 2006 win of the disco-ball trophy on Channel 7’s Dancing with the Stars.

Star forward Josh Kennedy and development coach Justin Longmuir also joined the crowd, with the pair discussing the lead up to finals.

Kennedy talked about his eye injury, admitting that he was the first to throw a tennis ball at Dean Cox and revealing the doctor’s initial concern that he might have lost his retina.

The eye injury seems to be healing nicely, with Kennedy assuring members he would resume training this week.

West Coast’s inaugural coach Ron Alexander then gave members exclusive insight into the formation of the West Coast Eagles and battle to establish the club within the competition.

The lunch finished with the raffle draw, with lucky winners taking home a West Coast Eagles Medals of Honour box set, 2011 team signed guernsey and captain and coach signed Sherrin football.

Members also had the chance to win a bonus raffle prize, the GasMate Vega barbeque donated by Principal Membership Partner Stratco.

Thank you to our passionate Captain’s Club members who joined the club to help celebrate our 25th anniversary, we look forward to welcoming you to more luncheons in season 2012.
