Morgan from Wishart (QLD)
The big emu should be back in about six weeks or so.
It’s really unlucky for the big fella because he had done all the work during the pre-season and was looking great until he sprained his ankle when we played Carlton in a practice match.
But you can expect to see him back on the field soon.
Is Daniel Rich a shy kid?
Kelsie from Echuca (VIC)
He is definitely not shy around the boys at the Club but he can still be a bit reserved in public and in front of the media. He’s still only young so you can kind of expect that.
G'day Ash. You're probably sick of being asked this, but what's Fev like and do you think he will make an impact next year? Also, what are you going to do now that J-Mac has left? He always got a mention in your column.
Wendy from Goondiwindi (QLD)
Fev has fit really well into the Club. It only took him a day or two at the start of pre-season to become one of the boys and he has been able to share some of his tricks with us as well. He’s really popular among the playing group and we can’t wait to have him booting goals for the Lions this season.
As for Joely Mac’s replacement, I have only two words - TODD BANFIELD. Watch this space.
Hey mate, I was just wondering why the Lions never play Saturday afternoon games at the Gabba
Jeremy from Keperra (QLD)
I can’t actually remember ever playing a Saturday afternoon game at the Gabba.
I’m pretty sure it’s because day games in Queensland are way too hot - even during winter. That’s why we hardly ever play Sunday afternoon games as well.
It might also have something to do with the broadcast and conflicts with junior sports programs up here in Queensland..
Who has had the biggest pre-season at the Lions?
Marcus from Greensborough (VIC)
Callum Bartlett. He was our first pick in last year’s National Draft and he is flying at the moment.
He has taken a while to get back on track after undergoing a knee reconstruction early last year, but should start playing again in the next couple of weeks.
He is really quick and has fantastic skills. Be sure to keep an eye on him throughout the year.
A while back I remember you saying that you would like to open a Krispy Kreme store in Perth one day. Why Krispy Kreme? And why in Perth?
Xavier from Chifley (A.C.T)
The reason is simple, Krispy Kreme is delicious!
I am also originally from Perth and think that something like that could set me up for life after footy.
