After days of speculation regarding unspecified injury problems, Barry Hall has been ruled out from Saturday’s clash with Geelong at Skilled Stadium.

Sydney Swans coach Paul Roos said today that Hall was suffering from groin soreness and hopefully this would only see him missing from action for one week.

“I just want to put an end to the continued speculation regarding Hally and, after speaking with our medical team, it has been decided to give him (Hall) the week off,” Roos said.

“Hopefully with the weeks rest we will see him back next week for the Fremantle game.

“We spoke with Barry this morning and even with a few days to the game it was determined not to try and push on for this week.

“The groin soreness has been obviously restrictive and we just need to give him a week off.

“I just wanted to get this out of the way now so as to end the speculation and we can now concentrate on the task at hand which is taking on Geelong this weekend.”

Hall hopes missing the Skilled Stadium contest will help him find his best form.

"It's obviously disappointing but I just need some time to get my body right so I can do the things that make me a good player, at the moment I am unable to do so," Hall said.

With Barry Hall ruled out this will be the first game he has missed in 113 weeks dating back to round 21, 2002.
