Scott Thompson had jumped to the lead in Adelaide’s coaches votes for 2010.

After a solid month of football from the midfielder, nine votes in the game against the Western Bulldogs has put him on 38 votes, three clear of injured skipper Simon Goodwin.

Defender Graham Johncock has moved into third position on 26 after receiving five votes, and is now ahead of Kurt Tippett on 25.

Full back Ben Rutten received a vote for his effort in keeping Bulldogs spearhead Barry Hall goalless for only the second time this season.

Collingwood’s Dane Swan leads the overall coaches votes with 104, a 16 vote lead over Hawthorn’s Luke Hodge.

In the AFLCA Champion Player of the Year, head coaches vote each week on a 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 basis. Coaches’ vote only on their own matches, but may vote for players on the opposing team.
