OUT-OF-contract Sydney defender Nic Newman met with North Melbourne on Wednesday as he weighs up his future.
The Roos are set for a busy off-season, with Port Adelaide speedster Jared Polec already committed to heading to Arden Street while the club remains in the hunt to land West Coast star Andrew Gaff.

North is also expected to trade in Gold Coast midfielder Aaron Hall, and Newman could add to that list with AFL.com.au understanding he toured the Roos' headquarters.
Newman played 11 games for the Swans this year after 20 last season, and would follow Dan Hannebery and Gary Rohan in departing Sydney.

He broke back into the senior side in the second half of this season, playing every game from round 17 onwards.
Newman had 15 disposals in the Swans' elimination final drubbing at the hands of Greater Western Sydney.
The 25-year-old was originally rookie-listed as a mature-ager from VFL side Frankston but impressed at NEAFL level to finally earn a place in the Swans' line-up.
