GOLD Coast will be without key defenders Steven May and Rory Thompson for Saturday night's match against North Melbourne, with both ruled out for at least another week.
May (hamstring) and Thompson (quad) have missed one and two matches respectively.
Gold Coast general manager of football Marcus Ashcroft told the club's website the pair were making good progress, but would have to wait until round seven's clash with Geelong to return.
"(They) won’t play this weekend but will be a test for the following weekend’s game," Ashcroft said.
It's a similar timeframe for midfield recruit Pearce Hanley, who suffered a bruised heel in the NEAFL two weekends ago.
Hanley was playing his first match back in three weeks from personal leave and will now also have to wait a further week to play again, which would likely be in the NEAFL.
Trent McKenzie injured himself in the same reserves match and is expected to take a little longer to recover.
"It’s still looking at two to three weeks for Trent to be available for selection," Ashcroft said
