Nine Lives-Geelong kicked off its tenth year in style with the Cats coach, CEO, directors and some players at the Season Launch Breakfast on Tuesday 22 March.

Chris Scott, Brian Cook, James Kelly and Tom Lonergan joined 200 guests at the event, held in the Captains’ Room at Skilled Stadium.

To start the morning, MC media personality Catherine Ellis welcomed Nine Lives Chairperson and Director of the Geelong Cats, Diana Taylor. Diana spoke about the importance of the women’s supporter group and how proud she was for Nine Lives to reach a significant milestone.

Diana presented former chairperson of Nine Lives, Helene Bender with a beautiful yellow gold diamond set pendant and a pair of matching ear-rings from Duffs to show our appreciation of the wonderful job she had done as Nine Lives-Geelong chairperson since it was established in 2001.

Guests were inspired by Passion Provocateur, Charles Korvess during his presentation on ‘what it takes to be great’.  Guests also heard from new major sponsor, Westfield’s Chelsea Nankervis and new charity partner, Give Where You Live’s Jordon Mavros. 

Chris Scott gave guests an update on the team and asked them to support the club through this time of change. Chris said he believed the change the club has experienced is a positive one which will take the club forward. 

A question and answer segment with James Kelly and Tom Lonergan provided guests with an insight into their off-season. James recounted his Kokoda Track journey and Tom spoke of his trip to Uganda.

Cats Director Bob Gartland helped out with the auction as auctioneer and guests had the opportunity to get some great items in the auction and raffle.
