ADELAIDE

It will be difficult for Crows selectors to overlook rookie Ian Callinan for his long-awaited AFL debut this week following his best on ground performance for Central District. Callinan amassed 30 possessions, seven marks and kicked a goal in his second game back from a bicep injury. Midfielder Brent Reilly, who sat out the loss to the Western Bulldogs with a knee complaint, is available for selection against Geelong, while David Mackay (shoulder) will return via South Adelaide. Brodie Martin, Brodie Smith, Richard Tambling and rookie Aidan Riley could also be considered if coach Neil Craig has lost patience with the current group.

BRISBANE LIONS

The Lions have two more injury holes to plug after Mitch Clark (ankle) and Todd Banfield (hamstring) went down against Richmond last weekend. Michael Voss has indicated Irishman Niall McKeever is a chance of making his debut against Fremantle on Saturday. Xavier Clarke is also close to playing his first senior match for the season after overcoming a second knee reconstruction in the off-season. Bryce Retzlaff could also be in line for a recall to cover for Clark.

CARLTON
Shaun Hampson was the major casualty to come out of Sunday's win against the Sydney Swans. The ruckman will miss up to two months with a posterior cruciate ligament strain while David Ellard is also in some doubt for next Sunday's home clash with West Coast after suffering concussion. Jarrad Waite (hamstring), Simon White (knee), Setanta O'hAilpin (hand) and Jeremy Laidler (knee) will all undergo fitness tests later in the week. Brock McLean, Dennis Armfield and Mark Austin were among the Northern Bullants' best in the win over Geelong.

COLLINGWOOD
Darren Jolly is expected to play his first game since Anzac Day after returning from Arizona with an increased fitness level and a fully rehabilitated knee. Jolly's travelling companions Dane Swan and Brent Macaffer are available, although the latter will likely play in the VFL. Dale Thomas will return from his one-week suspension while Ben Johnson - who hasn't played seniors since round six - will be tested. The VFL side also had a bye on the weekend but the week before, Luke Rounds and Tom Young pressed for senior selection and were named in the extended squad for the Queen's Birthday clash against Melbourne.

ESSENDON

Essendon will be forced to make at least two changes to replace defenders Cale Hooker (hamstring) and Kyle Hardingham (suspension) against Hawthorn on Friday night. David Hille will return to the team after being ruled out with soreness against North Melbourne last week, and Kyle Reimers, Henry Slattery, Alex Browne, Travis Colyer and Alwyn Davey are all a chance to face the Hawks as the club aims to break its four-game losing streak.
- Callum Twomey

FREMANTLE

Star ruckman Aaron Sandilands is running and faces a fitness test this week on the injured toe that has sidelined him for four weeks. Key defender Antoni Grover will also be tested after suffering an adductor injury against Melbourne, while goalsneak Hayden Ballantyne (hamstring) has not been ruled out by coach Mark Harvey. Forward Kepler Bradley (knee) was a late withdrawal against Melbourne, but he is available. There were no WAFL matches at the weekend due to the WA v Queensland state game, but Rhys Palmer, Dylan Roberton and Josh Mellington could push for selection if the match committee decides an 89-point thrashing warrants extensive changes.

GEELONG

The Cats have lost Mathew Stokes and Josh Hunt to suspension, while Darren Milburn (Achilles), Jimmy Bartel (concussion) and James Kelly (ankle) are all in doubt for Sunday's clash with the Crows at Skilled Stadium. Young midfielder Allen Christensen heads the list of likely inclusions after some dazzling performances in the VFL. Mitch Brown, Steven Motlop and Tom Gillies are other names that have been mentioned by Geelong coach Chris Scott. Tom Hawkins didn't play in the VFL last weekend due to a calf strain but he's also in contention, as is Shannon Byrnes. The speedy half-forward has spent the past month in the VFL after shaking off the knee, foot and calf injuries that have dogged him during the past six months.

GOLD COAST

After both missing through ankle injuries against Hawthorn, Suns fans will be pleased to know rookie sensations Zac Smith and David Swallow will line up against the Western Bulldogs on Saturday. The pair could be joined by strong key position player Charlie Dixon who has shown promising signs in the reserves at centre half-back.  NAB Rising Star nominee Brandon Matera is still a week or two away with his groin injury.

HAWTHORN
The Hawks made five enforced changes to their line-up last week, but only two of those - Brent Guerra (ear) and late withdrawal Ryan Schoenmakers (foot) - shape as possible inclusions to face Essendon this week. Both face tests, as does Guerra's replacement Rick Ladson, who hurt his thigh against Gold Coast. Lance Franklin will miss through suspension, meaning if Schoenmakers doesn't come up the Hawks might have to dip back into their fast-emptying basket of big men, as young Jordan Lisle can't fill in at both ends. Riley Milne might be next in line for a crack at the big time. Chance Bateman, injured against the Western Bulldogs in round 10, could make his return. And young midfielder Will Sierakowski was upgraded from the rookie list last week, suggesting he must be somewhere 'in the mix' as well.

MELBOURNE
Mark Jamar is a good chance to make his comeback from a knee injury. Coach Dean Bailey talked him up on Monday and said he would have no qualms fitting him in the same team as Max Gawn and Stefan Martin. Sam Blease continues to knock on the door of team selection with another impressive performance for VFL team Casey. Fellow red-head Matthew Bate was also among the best for the Scorpions, as was defender Matthew Warnock who may be called up if Colin Garland does not recover in time from his ankle injury.

NORTH MELBOURNE

Key forward Lachie Hansen should slot straight back into North Melbourne's team after missing last round with concussion. The Kangaroos are unlikely to make many other changes after their strong win over Essendon. But running defender Cameron Richardson and midfielder Cruize Garlett continue to push for senior recalls after they were again named in North Ballarat's best last Saturday. North's Werribee-aligned players had a bye in the VFL last weekend.

PORT ADELAIDE

Steven Salopek responded to speculation he could be dropped to the SANFL reserves, accumulating 28 possessions and 11 marks in Glenelg's loss to Central District, while David Rodan starred with six goals for Norwood and should be recalled. Midfielder Mitch Banner continued his good form in the local league, gathering 28 touches and a goal, but Port Adelaide's determined effort against West Coast might see him miss out again. Brett Ebert, Jason Davenport and ruckman Matthew Lobbe all had quieter games in the SANFL.

RICHMOND

The Tigers play a home game at the MCG against Melbourne on Saturday afternoon after three weeks on the road. David Gourdis continued to push his case for a senior recall with a best on ground performance for Coburg in the win against Casey with Matt White (who suffered an injury late in the game), Shane Tuck and Angus Graham also named in the best players. Coach Damien Hardwick looks set to make at least one change to the team that defeated the Brisbane Lions after Jake King ran foul of the match review panel for striking Ash McGrath.

SYDNEY SWANS
The Swans will be looking to make changes to the side that crumbled against Carlton and also have to replace the suspended Shane Mumford.
Jesse White seems to be an obvious inclusion after booting six in the twos a fortnight ago and finding plenty of the ball in the ruck last week. Former Bulldog Andrejs Everitt is also in line for a re-call after taking 12 marks on the weekend in an impressive display, and developing ruckman Dan Currie's form in the past month has been noteworthy. Second-round draft pick Luke Parker and Brett Meredith starred in the reserves' big win against GWS while Paul Bevan and Jarred Moore were unlucky to miss out last week.
- Cameron Noakes

WESTERN BULLDOGS

Barry Hall should return this week but whether it's at AFL or VFL level is yet to be determined. Brian Lake will be assessed later in the week after severely scratching his eye while playing for Williamstown on Sunday. Zeph Skinner, Lukas Markovic and Sam Reid were in the best for the Seagulls in that game while Patrick Veszpremi kicked three goals, and Jarrad Grant and Jordan Roughead two apiece. Meanwhile, Adam Cooney took a step towards getting his season back on track on Friday night when he got through a quarter of the win over Adelaide after coming on as the substitute player.

WEST COAST
Key defender Eric Mackenzie is available after missing seven weeks with a foot injury, but his return could depend on match-ups against the Blues' dynamic forward line. Defender Ash Smith, the player Mackenzie would likely replace, has been impressive this year against a variety of tall and small opponents. Further changes won't be forced by injuries or form, but first-year forward Jack Darling could be due for a rest. Midfielder Chris Masten, who was dropped for the Gold Coast clash, and form WAFL player Koby Stevens are also pushing for selection.
