The Sydney Swans are making an audacious bid to steal Hawthorn forward Lance Franklin away from his presumed destination, Greater Western Sydney.
News Limited reports the Swans have made a $7 million dollar bid - $1.4 million over five years – for the Hawk spearhead.
Incoming Giants coach Leon Cameron revealed on Fox Footy's AFL 360 on Monday night that the club had sent its proposed offer to Franklin's management last week.
GWS' deal is reported to be close to $2 million a season.
Meanwhile, Carlton will not chase the services of the Hawk megastar.

Carlton leads the race for the services of talented Brisbane Lions youngster Sam Docherty.
The 19-year-old, pick No. 12 in the 2011 NAB AFL Draft, has told the Lions he wants to be traded to the Blues, News Limited reports.
However, the club's pursuit of Collingwood's Dale Thomas may have some impact on a potential trade, as the Blues' energies will be concentrated on the Pies star.
Montagna weighing up future
Experienced St Kilda on-baller Leigh Montagna is considering his options about a possible move away from the Saints.
While St Kilda expects expect him to stay, The Age reports the key Saint is pondering whether to move to another club to achieve some late-career success.
AFL.com.au revealed on Monday the Saints were also in the box seat to secure North Melbourne key defender Luke Delaney, who has nominated the club as his preferred destination. The Saints have made Delaney a three-year offer.
