North Melbourne moved its training forward an hour on Monday in an effort to minimize the impact of Melbourne's searing heat, but its players still found the going tough as temperatures soared above 40 degrees.

"In terms of the output we got from the players today it was really pleasing," Assistant coach Shane Watson told kangaroos.com.au

The blistering sun shone down at Arden Street as the Roos were put through a rigorous set of drills.

"It started off a little scratchy but from the second drill onwards, considering the conditions, they trained really well,"

"I think we had 30 players out there and they had to work really hard. The younger guys were at an AFL induction day."
