Premiership stars Corey Enright and Joel Selwood have had their consecutive game streaks end after the pair were forced to withdraw from the Cats clash with West Coast.
Enright missed with a sore foot, while glute tightness kept Selwood on the sidelines. Both are expected to return for the qualifying final clash with St Kilda next week.
Enright had played 78 consecutive games and Selwood 60. The last time Geelong played without Enright was round 18, 2007. That was the only game Enright had missed since the start of the 2006 season before today’s withdrawal.
The last time Selwood didn’t line up was round 11, 2008.
Shannon Byrnes was also a late withdrawal with a virus. He is also expected to fine to face the Saints.
