DAVID Myers and Leroy Jetta will be Bombers until at least the end of 2014 after agreeing to new two-year deals with the club.
The West Australian pair has been in contract discussions with Essendon for some time, with their new extensions ending any speculation they could leave the club.
Myers had another injury-interrupted season in 2012, playing nine games but suffering calf and hamstring injuries.
Although he has been used in defence, Myers' best games this year came as a midfielder, where his strong body and ball use added another dimension to Essendon's midfield.
"I think it was evident from the first half of the season that we can play exciting football and are capable of matching it with the best teams," Myers told essendonfc.com.au.
"We're willing to do whatever it takes to make this club successful and I feel that we are on the right track."
Drafted with pick six in the 2007 NAB AFL Draft, Myers has played 45 games in six seasons with the club.
Jetta started his 2012 campaign in career-best form, but tailed off towards the end of the season. He finished with 22 goals from 21 games.
"We're a close group, and I want to be a part of this team, because I think we can achieve great things together," Jetta said.
The duo's signatures are important for the Bombers, with several senior players still remaining out of contract.
David Hille and Scott Gumbleton are mulling over one-year offers, while Dustin Fletcher and Alwyn Davey are among other Bombers still unsigned.
