Losing the tackle count in a match is something that never sits well with the Sydney Swans coaching staff.

After being out-tackled by the Blues in round six, assistant coach Leigh Tudor said he was pleased with the way the team bounced back against the Western Bulldogs in Canberra on Saturday.

“It was a big focus leading into the game against the Bulldogs. I thought all of the boys from the first bounce to the last bounce were really hard and tough and to win the tackle count went a long way toward us winning the game,” Tudor told SwansTV.

Tudor said that it was difficult to find a player in Saturday’s game that didn’t beat their opponent or play their role for the team.

He held particular praise for the Club’s leaders - Adam Goodes, Ryan O’Keefe and Jarrad Mcveigh - who stood up when required.

Looking ahead to this Saturday night’s match against Port Adelaide at the SCG, Tudor told SwansTV the team would need to make more of their opportunities.

“When we’ve got momentum and we’re in control of the game, we want to be able to score more and that will be a big focus for us again this week,” Tudor said.
