At 192cm and 85kg, Buckby can play at either end of the ground and would have been talked up more had he played more footy in 2013. Stress fractures in his ankle restricted him to only a handful of games this year, although he was impressive in a state under-18 trial game as a big-bodied midfielder. He has a great work ethic on and off the field, but might need another year in the SANFL to prove his ability to AFL recruiters.
