High-profile recruits assigned famous numbers at the Lions
Which high-profile Lions recruit will don the famous No.3?
THE BRISBANE Lions have allocated guernsey numbers to their six recruits for next season.
Former Collingwood midfielder Dayne Beams will sport the No.9, ex-Cat Allen Christensen the No.3, and former Carlton tough-nut Mitch Robinson the No.5.
Christensen gets one of the club's most famous jumpers, switching from the No.28 he wore with the Cats, to take the number synonymous with Lions legend Michael Voss, who won a Brownlow Medal and led the club to three premierships.
Robinson, who signed with the Lions as a delisted free agent, will also wear a famous number, sported by Fitzroy greats John Murphy and 'Superboot' Bernie Quinlan.
It was also the number used by another recent Carlton recruit – Brendan Fevola.
Meanwhile, Lions Academy pair Liam Dawson (No.24) and Harris Andrews (No.31) were also allocated numbers after the club successfully won for their draft rights at last month's bidding meeting.
Father/Son selection Josh Clayton will wear No.19, opting against using the same number (40) his father Scott wore for 160 games for Fitzroy.
Jonathan Brown's famous No.16 will be retired for the 2015 season – much like Simon Black's No.20 was this year.
Excited and thankful to be wearing number 5 for such a proud & historic club in @brisbanelions! Bring on pre season
