Fremantle rookie Michael Barlow has agreed to terms for a two-year contract extension through to the end of the 2012 season.

The 22-year-old has had a great start to his AFL career in his first two games against Adelaide and Essendon after being approved as the club’s nominated rookie for 2010.

General manager of player management Brad Lloyd said that Barlow had impressed everyone at Fremantle since arriving at the club.

“Although Michael is only a few games into his career, we are very positive about his future prospects and his capacity to play a role in our midfield,” Lloyd said.

Recruited from VFL side Werribee, Barlow was Fremantle’s first selection, number eight overall, in the 2009 Rookie Draft.

Meanwhile, rookie Matt de Boer has been elevated to Fremantle's main list. The 20-year-old replaces Dean Solomon, who was placed on the long-term injury list in February.

De Boer's elevation to the main list means he will be available for selection in Sunday's round three clash with Geelong at Subiaco Oval.
