PORT Adelaide forward Brett Ebert is on track to play his 100th match against West Coast at Subiaco this week, despite injuring his shoulder in Sunday’s 41-point win over Essendon.

Ebert, 25, struggled with ankle and groin complaints last year after coming off a career-best 2007, but was lively on Sunday with 17 possessions and eight marks to go with a return of 2.2.

The pint-sized forward went from the ground clutching his shoulder early in the last quarter after being crunched in a tackle from Bombers’ youngster Tayte Pears.

Ebert went down to the rooms for treatment, but returned to the field to set up a crucial goal in the dying stages of the game.

Coach Mark Williams described Ebert’s injury as being ‘not too bad’.

“Ebo’s had a shoulder that been a little unstable before, so it was just a bit in the way of (moving the joint) up and back and that type stuff,” Williams said.

“He’ll play next week and it was great for him to come back on.”

Ebert will be one of as many as four Power players to celebrate a milestone in Sunday’s twilight match against West Coast.

Star Chad Cornes will become just the fourth Port Adelaide player, behind Warren Tredrea, Peter Burgoyne and Brendon Lade, to play 200 matches.

Vice-captain Shaun Burgoyne will line up for his 150th game and defender Toby Thurstans, if selected, will play his 100th match for the club.
