St Kilda Football Club is aware of certain speculation surrounding the Saints Cheer Squad in 2011.
As a valued member of our great Club, we wish to advise you of the following details to provide you with official and accurate information regarding the Cheer Squad.
All Cheer Squad members would have received notification of the postponement of the Annual Meeting, pending a review of operations of the Cheer Squad. This review has now been completed.
In short, the Club will action five important changes to the Cheer Squad for Season 2011 that we believe will clear up the uncertainty that has developed in recent times.
- Increase our support of the Cheer Squad, both on match day and in behind the scenes administration.
- In line with AFL practice, we will implement a Cheer Squad Member Charter to which all Cheer Squad members, as representatives of the St Kilda Football Club, must commit and abide by.
- We will introduce a Cheer Squad member Volunteer Roster to ensure the work involved and the enjoyment derived from being part the Cheer Squad is shared equally amongst members according to their ability to make a contribution.
- We will formalise the Cheer Squad Grand Final Ticket Allocation process to ensure fairness and transparency for all.
- And finally, we will call for nominations and hold an election for a new Cheer Squad Board of not more than 6 and not less than 4 people to represent all Cheer Squad members in your dealings with the Club.
Rest assured there will be a St Kilda Football Club Cheer Squad in 2011 and there will not be any additional Reserved Seating charge for Cheer Squad members.
Sales of new Cheer Squad Memberships for the 2011 Season only have been closed in order to implement these new processes and will re-open for 2012.
In the week commencing Monday 6 December 2010, all Cheer Squad members will receive a letter that will include your Cheer Squad membership renewal details, 'A Call for Nominations' form for the new Cheer Squad Board and a St Kilda Cheer Squad Charter that must be accepted, signed and returned to the Club.
The St Kilda Cheer Squad has a proud history of passionate support of our Club. You all go to extraordinary lengths to make sure we have a colourful, vocal and strong Saints presence at all the games we play, in every corner of Australia.
It's the Club's desire to ensure the Cheer Squad continues to give passionate support to the boys, with the aim to grow into one of the most passionate and respected Cheer Squads in the AFL. The Club wishes for the Cheer Squad to provide a great environment filled with a lot of fun for every Cheer Squad member.
