The AFL's restructure of its executive has meant a major promotion for commercial manager Gillon McLachlan.
He will take over the newly-created position of chief broadcasting and commercial officer, meaning McLachlan will oversee the league's record broadcast rights deal.
The restructure followed last month's departure of broadcasting, strategy and major projects general manager Ben Buckley, who is now the Football Federation Australia chief executive.
The league will advertise for the new post of corporate development and industry relations general manager.
Strategic planning manager Andrew Catterall will now join the executive as strategic and club support general manager, another new position.
