THIS Saturday's Grand Final between Geelong and Hawthorn will be played under the watchful eye of three field umpires who have officiated in 60 finals matches between them.

The AFL announced on Tuesday that Scott McLaren, Michael Vozzo and Shaun Ryan would umpire the match.

McLaren is the most experienced of the three, with 320 AFL games including 31 finals to his name. He was the All-Australian umpire in 2001, and has been involved in four Grand Finals in 1999, 2001, 2005 and 2007.

Vozzo will get an opportunity to preside over his second Grand Final, having umpired the 2006 clash between West Coast and the Sydney Swans. He will also get the chance to add to his 214 AFL games and 18 finals.

Ryan is the relative newcomer of the trio, having umpired 135 games including 11 finals. Saturday's game will be his first AFL Grand Final.

This year's All-Australian umpire Brett Rosebury, who has officiated in 148 games including nine finals, has been named as an emergency.

The boundary will be manned by Darren Wilson (242 games including 36 finals), Ian Burrows (58 games including five finals), Adam Coote (83 games including eight finals) and Jonathon Creasey (137 games including five finals).

Wilson has umpired the last 10 consecutive Grand Finals, stretching back to 1998, while Creasey has two to his name (2004 and 2006) and Coote has one (2006). Burrows will be making his Grand Final debut.

Mark Thomson has been named as the emergency boundary umpire. He has run the boundary in 164 matches, including 10 finals.

Peter Nastasi and Steven Axon will be the goal umpires. Nastasi will be participating in his first Grand Final after 92 games and seven finals, while Axon will back up from his debut performance last year to add to his 51 games, including six finals.

Mark Canning has been appointed as the emergency goal umpire, with 207 matches including 11 finals and the 2006 Grand Final to his credit.
