ADELAIDE'S ability to fight itself out of any situation will hold the minor premier in good stead heading into the finals, forward Tom Lynch says.
The Crows finished on top of the ladder for the first time since 2005 despite losing their last two games of the season to Sydney and West Coast.
It sets up a home qualifying final with Greater Western Sydney next Thursday night at Adelaide Oval.
The Crows have won 31 games, lost 12 and drawn one in the past two seasons excluding finals, despite being notoriously slow starters.
Lynch said one of Adelaide's biggest strengths was being able to make changes on the fly to turn the momentum of a game.
"We've developed that in the last 12 to 18 months," he told reporters on Tuesday.
"We've been able to adjust or reconnect to each other if things aren't going the way we like.
"That's something we can draw on if we're in those positions again.
"With finals footy, there's going to be some ups and downs, it's going to be an arm wrestle and we're going to be up for the fight."
It's the third-straight season the Crows have made the finals, having lost semi-finals to Hawthorn and the Swans in 2015 and 2016 respectively.
"The key is to stay in the moment," Lynch said.
"Things aren't always going to go your way, but when your momentum comes, you have to ride the wave of that.
"We're going to draw on times where we haven't been in great positions and come out on top.
"We've got a great confidence in this group that at our best, we can mix it with anyone."
Lynch said the Crows were better placed than they have been in the past three seasons to have a serious tilt at breaking the club's 19-year premiership drought.
"We've evolved as a team, we understand each other more, we've had some continuity with our football so we've been playing for a while now and we understand how we play, how (coach) Don (Pyke) wants us to play and we're more mature and experienced," he said.
"All that together, as a number of teams are in that same space, we've put ourselves up for a good shot, but the new season starts now and we need to be ready to go."
Lynch said captain Taylor Walker would be a certain starter to return from a toe injury to face the Giants.
