One of the biggest impacts on Daniel Wells when he first stepped foot into the Arden St changerooms was the history adorning the walls.

Seeing the names on each numbered locker struck a chord with the young hopeful.

Lockers are adorned with Premiership Players, Club Champions and 100-game players in each number.

As it is with most players who come to the Kangaroos, their aim is first to make their debut in the blue and white stripes and then be successful enough to get their name on their locker and it’s been no different for the youngster from Peel Thunder.

For Wells this dream becomes a reality this weekend when he lines up for his 100th match.

“I am honoured to reach the milestone at this great cub,” Wells said exclusively to kangaroos.com.au as he prepares for the second final of his career this week.

“When you first arrive in the changerooms at Arden St the history really hits you and to now get my name on my locker is a great thrill,” Wells said.

The 22-year-old showed close to his top form at the weekend against the Dogs with a series of breathtaking runs through the middle and he can’t wait for the game this weekend.

“There is a great excitement around the club and I am looking forward to playing on the MCG in front of 70,000-80,000 fans on Sunday,” Wells said.

“Our fans are always great, but in the past five to six weeks I have really noticed a difference in the noise levels with our fans at games and I am sure they will take it to another level this week.”

Wells urged as many fans as possible to get along to training on Saturday morning to show their support to the team ahead of the Qualifying final.

“There was a big crowd at yesterday’s training session and having the fans there adds to the buzz around the place and certainly spurs us on,” he said.

The Kangaroos Saturday training session will start at 10.30am and the Peninsula Ladies Supporter Group will have their famous BBQ in operation at the session and at the completion of the training the team will sign autographs along the boundary line.
