Newly appointed St Kilda senior coach, Scott Watters has outlined that he wants Robert Harvey in his arsenal of assistant coaches going forward.
Speaking on Radio Sports National this morning, Watters said that he would meet with Harvey quickly to secure his services.
“We’re going to meet with him very quickly, we’d love to have Robert there he is obviously such a crucial part of the St Kilda picture.”
“I would love to have him [Harvey] as a really key player in what we are doing…at the end of the day it will be his decision,” said Watters.
Watters, 42, has also promised fans that they can expect to see some new exciting faces introduced to the Saints side in 2012.
“I think there are some kids who are just craving opportunity and are craving some exposure. Siposs, Ledger, Cripss, all these players have had brief, limited exposure at this point, but I’d be hoping in 12-18 months we’ll be talking of them in the same breath as some of the bigger names at the club.”
“There does need to be an injection of youth, but they’re going to earn their opportunity, we’ll get the balance right between experience and the younger guys, but there will certainly going to be some opportunities,” added Watters.
