Mimi Hill from the Carlton Football Club has been crowned the 2022 NAB AFL Women's Rising Star
Hill won the award with 43 votes, narrowly beating Gold Cost SUNS' Charlie Rowbottom (42 votes) and North Melbourne's Mia King (33 votes).
In winning the award, Hill received a $20,000 personal investment portfolio and a dedicated personal banker, courtesy of NAB, at the 2022 W Awards ceremony held on Tuesday April 5.
The 20-year-old was nominated in Carlton's Round Five loss against Adelaide Crows, in what was an incredible come-back following a season-ending injury in 2021.
Hill was a shining light for Carlton, catching the NAB Rising Star selection panel's attention with 25 disposals, 340 metres gained, four tackles and three clearances.
Hill averaged 21.5 disposals this season - the seventh highest in the league - 2.3 tackles, 3 clearances, and 2.5 inside 50s per game.
The midfielder's outstanding season was also recognised with a selection in the 40-person AFLW All-Australian squad.
Hill was recruited from the Oakleigh Chargers with pick No.12 in the 2020 NAB AFL Women’s Draft, making her debut in Round One against Collingwood in 2021.
She is Carlton's second player to win the coveted award, joining teammate and fellow midfielder Madison Prespakis who won the 2019 NAB AFLW Rising Star.
