Geelong Football Club CEO Brian Cook has called on the AFL to enforce its rules in relation to GC17’s membership campaign in today’s Gold Coast Bulletin.
The advertisement in the paper asks readers to become members of the AFL’s newest club and features Ablett in a Gold Coast jumper and directs readers back to the Gold Coast Football Club’s website.
Cook issued a statement today calling on the AFL to take the appropriate action against the club.
- The advertisement is clearly an ad for Gold Coast football club, pushing for supporters to become members and directing readers to the official website of the Gold Coast football club.
- The advertisement uses the intellectual property of Gary Ablett without his permission
- We look forward to the AFL, the AFLPA and IMG, Gary’s management company, taking the appropriate action following this clear contravention of the rules.
