ADELAIDE could welcome back Eddie Betts, Brad Crouch and Jake Lever for Sunday's Showdown with Port Adelaide at Adelaide Oval.
However, key defender Kyle Hartigan won't be available after suffering another hamstring injury in the SANFL last weekend.
While the 43rd edition of the Showdown looms as one of the most important encounters between the two clubs, Crows forward Tom Lynch said that wouldn't be a deciding factor whether the trio return.
"Those guys will be given every opportunity to get themselves up, but we're not going to take any risks if they're not 100 per cent," Lynch said.
"We've got full faith in our medical staff and our fitness staff who have been able to prepare those guys and get them ready for another Showdown.
"They'll have to get through Thursday's session and then the session later in the week on Saturday.
"We're really confident those boys will be right to go, but we're not going to play them if they're not 100 per cent."
Betts will be carefully monitored after he was admitted to hospital early last week to have his appendix removed, forcing the champion small forward to miss last Sunday's draw with Collingwood.
The 30-year-old has returned to light duties, but will need a medical clearance before he is given the green light to face the Power.
"Eddie will see the surgeon this week and we’ll be guided by him on his return to play," Crows general manager of high performance Matt Hass told the club's website.
"Eddie will be pushing to do everything he can to play Port Adelaide."
Betts was optimistic about his chances of taking on the Power when speaking to Channel Nine on Monday night.
"I'm OK, I had a run (on Monday) and I've got to see the surgeon on Tuesday or Wednesday. We'll have to wait and see, fingers crossed," Betts said.
"I'm going to push to play, but whether or not, we'll have to wait and see."
Crouch will train with the main group, but the midfielder needs a medical clearance before he's allowed to return from a fractured cheekbone suffered in the round 18 win over Geelong.
The Crows will also be keen to regain Lever, with the key defender having missed the past two games with a hamstring injury.
“Jake’s done really well. He’s ticked every box that he’s needed to,” Hass said.
“He’ll train with the main group on Thursday and, should he get through that, he’ll be available this weekend.”
The same can't be said of Hartigan, who left the ground in the first quarter of Adelaide's SANFL clash against Glenelg with hamstring tightness.
“We took a no-risk approach with Kyle,” Hass said.
“Early indications are that it’s quite minor.
“He won’t play this weekend and he’ll be an assessment for the following weeks.”
It was Hartigan's first game back since injuring his hamstring in the round 15 win over Carlton.
