TRADES are set to flow on Thursday with bids for the GWS mini-draft closing Thursday afternoon

Gold Coast will select West Australian Jaegar O'Meara at Monday's mini-draft while Adelaide has been tipped to take North Ballarat's Brad Crouch, though there has been speculation they could select local boy Ben Kennedy.

Greater Western Sydney is expected to keep the rights for the remaining two 17-year-olds until next year, where they will undertake the same bidding process again.

Some bigger trades involving Mitch Clark and Brad Ebert are also understood to be just about over the line.

Clark is seeking a move from the Brisbane Lions to Fremantle, while Ebert is set to join Port Adelaide from West Coast.

Those deals are expected to come through on Thursday, with both involving a third or even a fourth club.

But the clubs that missed out on dealing their way into the mini-draft could still play an active part in Trade Week, with Melbourne already setting its sights on out-of-contract Saint Tommy Walsh.

The Demons have expressed interest in the Irishman, as have Richmond and the Sydney Swans but Melbourne is in the best position as it has compensation picks and salary cap room after Tom Scully's defection to Greater West Sydney.

The Saints have received no offer for Jason Gram, despite the running half-back being linked to North Melbourne, while there has been some interest in Zac Dawson, Farren Ray and Brett Peake.

Dawson, Peake and Ray are all yet to re-sign with the Saints who have salary cap pressures.

Another Saint, Tom Lynch, has attracted strong interest from Adelaide, but as he is under contract for next year, St Kilda has the upper hand in any negotiations.

No trades are official until paperwork has been accepted by the AFL and formally recognised after 2pm on Monday, October 17.
