A MAN has been charged by South Australian Police after allegedly carrying a flare and discharging a flare at Adelaide Oval on Friday night in the last quarter of Adelaide's 21-point win against Geelong.
The 33-year-old man from Everard Park has been banned from Adelaide Oval for life.
He was released on bail ahead of an appearance in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on August 16.
Fellow spectators grabbed the man before he was handed over to police and arrested.
An AFL spokesman said on Saturday morning if the man had a club membership, he would lose it.
It was later found the man was not a member of the Crows.

"We're extremely pleased that South Australian Police have apprehended the person. They've been given a six-month banning order and the courts will follow through," the spokesman said.
"If we're able to establish that the person has a membership at an AFL club, that will be removed."
Adelaide will investigate the incident, which occurred at the 22nd-minute mark of the last quarter on the hill in front of the old scoreboard.
It's understood no spectators were injured as a result of the flare going off and it's the first time a flare has been lit at an AFL game at Adelaide Oval.

"We'll be all over it pretty quickly," Crows director Rod Jameson told ABC Grandstand on Friday night.
"For that to be missed at a venue with that scale (of security) on a Friday night, national audience, everything about it ... it's extremely poor.
"A lot of people will be looking into it so it never happens again and I think it was remedied very quickly, but I think it should never happen."
The Crows released a statement, saying they will work with the Adelaide Oval Stadium Management Authority and South Australia Police. They will consider any punishment after all the details come to light and the club "strongly condemns the anti-social behaviour".
