AFL chief executive Andrew Demetriou says the findings of the review, lead by former Telstra chief executive Ziggy Switkowski, are set to be released publicly.
"To the best of my knowledge, yes," Demetriou told Melbourne radio station 3AW when asked if the report would be made public.
"They are briefing the AFL next week once it's been finalised and my expectation is ... it will be made public."
The review of the club's governance, processes and supervision followed concerns over "irregular practices" at the Bombers after Essendon were embroiled in the Australian Sports Anti-Doping Authority (ASADA) investigation.
Essendon chairman David Evans announced an independent review of the club soon after ASADA and the AFL began probing the Bombers over their supplements program during the period that sports scientist Stephen Dank worked there.
"Dr Switkowski will be given all the resources he needs to conduct this review, and the board will expect a report and recommendations," Evans said at the time.
"The review will also investigate practices in other clubs and other sports to measure our actions and processes against best practice."
There remains no fixed time-frame to resolve the ASADA and AFL probe which at present involves two AFL clubs - Essendon and Melbourne.
