HAWTHORN and St Kilda have pulled surprises at the selection table with young gun Ryan Burton dropped by the Hawks, while experienced midfielder David Armitage has been left out of the Saints' crunch clash against Geelong on Sunday.
VFL stalwart David Mirra will make his senior debut for the Hawks against Melbourne at the MCG on Sunday while Irishman Conor Glass is set to play his first game of the season. Fiery defender James Sicily returns from suspension while backman Kaiden Brand and premiership player Will Langford were confirmed as outs on Thursday.

Burton will play in the VFL on Saturday, but football manager Graham Wright says he is still struggling to recover from the ankle injury he suffered in round one.
"Ryan has struggled a bit since with his injury and general fitness since round one," Wright told hawthornfc.com.au.
"We feel it's best for him to have a game or two at Box Hill and hopefully regain some touch."
Melbourne hard nut Angus Brayshaw has been selected for his first game of the season after being overlooked in the opening three rounds. He replaces Dom Tyson, who is ill.
The Saints have brought in defender Sam Gilbert, ruckman Tom Hickey and small forward Jack Lonie for their first matches this year, while onballer Jack Steele made sure his stint at Sandringham lasted just one week as he was included for the match at GMHBA Stadium.
Key forward Josh Bruce was withdrawn from the squad earlier on Friday, with his replacement Josh Battle named as an emergency.
Along with Armitage, Nathan Wright was also dropped, while Jimmy Webster is out with a hip injury.
The Cats have left James Parsons out, joining Gary Ablett (hamstring), Cameron Guthrie (ankle) and Nakia Cockatoo (knee) out of the side.
Mitch Duncan, Rhys Stanley, Jordan Murdoch and Jordan Cunico are the four inclusions.
Meanwhile, Matt Guelfi will make his debut in place of the suspended Conor McKenna for Essendon's clash against Port Adelaide at Etihad Stadium.
Booming left-footer Trent McKenzie will play his first game for the Power, with Karl Amon also in, while Sam Powell-Pepper (club suspension) and Dom Barry (omitted) are out of the undefeated ladder leaders.
