Jordan Lisle played in the AFL for Hawthorn and Brisbane Lions before joining Port Melbourne, where he won three Frosty Miller Medals with goal tallies in the 40s.
The Brisbane Lions today secured exciting key position prospect Jordan Lisle from Hawthorn in exchange for the Club’s priority selection at the 2011 AFL National Draft (Pick No.29 overall).

At just 21 years of age and standing at 196cm, Lisle is a versatile tall with strong hands who can hold down key position roles both in defence and up forward.

Originally drafted from the Oakleigh Chargers in the 2008 AFL National Draft, Lisle spent his first two seasons developing with the Box Hill Hawks before eventually making his senior debut with Hawthorn in Round 11 this year.

He went on to play a total of five senior matches in 2011, including an impressive performance at centre half-back against Collingwood in Round 10 when he took a career-high 10 marks.

Lions National Talent Manager Rob Kerr said the Club had earmarked Lisle early in the season as a player who could benefit from greater opportunities.

“Our list definitely lacked another big body who could play either up forward or down back, particularly considering Brent Staker will miss 2012 with a knee injury and Mitch Clark requested to be traded,” Kerr said.

“We identified Jordan earlier this year in the VFL and have been monitoring his progress closely all year. He is still only very young, but showed that he could fill those key posts up forward and down back which provides us with greater flexibility.”

“Given Hawthorn has a wealth of quality key position players at their disposal, it has probably been hard for Jordan to find a regular senior role. So he will no doubt be looking forward to receiving greater opportunities at the Lions.”

“With three years of development under his belt, we are confident that he can quickly become an important player for us.”
