NORTH Melbourne president James Brayshaw has confirmed his club is considering an offer to play some home games in Tasmania from the 2012 season.

The Kangaroos have previously expressed interest in playing some matches at a revamped Bellerive Oval in Hobart, but remains committed to playing 11 games in Melbourne, with Arden Street to remain the club's headquarters.

Hawthorn is currently negotiating an extension of its $15 million sponsorship agreement with the Tasmanian government which expires at the end of the 2011 season.

The Hawks have played up to four home games a year at Aurora Stadium in Launceston since 2007 which has swelled the club's membership significantly, with North eyeing a similar boost in numbers.

"Our members should be very excited by the opportunities this could present us," Brayshaw told kangaroos.com.au.

"We will guarantee our supporters 11 games in Melbourne and we will be able to grow our great club like never before.

“While we are extremely positive about the direction our club is heading, I have consistently said we need to look at these types of opportunities to grow. We think there are great opportunities to work with Tasmania and we will keep our members informed as we continue to work through this.

"We have repeatedly stated that our home will always be at Arden Street and we will always be the North Melbourne Football Club.

"That will never change."
