Collingwood's Anthony Rocca has thrown his support behind "The Heart of Collingwood" and has donated a signed match day boot for the foundation's auction.
"I have signed my boot that I used in a few matches last year", Rocca said to Collingwoodfc.com.au.
"This foundation is a great idea because many past players don't have the means to care for their injuries they sustained playing in the black and white jumper."
"The Heart of Collingwood" was launched earlier this year in conjunction with "The Murray Weideman Foundation".
The welfare fund is designed to generate aid to former past players in need of medical assistance due to injuries sustained during their playing career.
Money is to be raised through online auctions with all proceeds donated to the fund.
Collingwood supporters also have the opportunity to purchase membership to "The Murray Weideman Foundation".
