After almost 12 months on the sidelines, Swans ruckman Mark Seaby is ready to take the field this Saturday night at Blacktown Olympic Park.

Seaby, whose season was ended when he suffered an ankle injury in round six last year, said it had been a trouble free preseason.

“Fortunately, it has been all go. The physio program has been really good and there will be some constant rehab throughout the year, but that is just something I have to work on," he said.

“I think I’m definitely further ahead than last year. I’ve been training more and I feel like I’ve got a lot more match fitness under my belt," Seaby said.

With Shane Mumford on the comeback trail from injury, Seaby will reassume ruck duties this weekend with Mike Pyke and youngster Dan Currie.

Seaby believes the competition for the key ruck posts can only be a positive for the Club. .

“It’s really good to see young guys come through and obviously Shane [Mumford] and Mike [Pyke] had great seasons last year.

“I was a little bit disappointed I couldn’t be out there helping out, and it was pretty hard to watch especially during the finals, but it does give me a lot of excitement for this year when I think about what we can all achieve together," Seaby said.
