WEST Coast players will rob each other of votes in Monday night's Brownlow Medal count, allowing Fremantle's Nat Fyfe to claim the award, Eagles midfielder Andrew Gaff says.

Fyfe is the red-hot favourite to win the Brownlow but 2014 medallist Matt Priddis is a clear second favourite heading into the count.

Gaff is on the eighth line of betting after an outstanding season in which he averaged 30 disposals and kicked 11 goals in the home and away season.

The 23-year-old said Priddis should poll well again but he did not think his teammate could beat Fyfe for a second year running.

"We know Matt's had a great year and polls very well," Gaff told AFL.com.au.

"I'm sure, no doubt, he'll go very close. But I think a lot of guys have performed well for us and are probably going to take a lot of votes off each other.

"It'll be exciting and interesting, especially if one of the boys or Matt goes close.

"You've got to poll a lot of threes - you're not going to do it with ones and twos. (And) it obviously helps winning a lot of games.

"I'm sure Josh Kennedy will get a lot of 'best-ons' as well and Luke (Shuey) always polls well.

"I still think Fyfe will win it. I think he could be on 30 votes by round 11 or 12 and I think it will probably be a little bit hard to catch up from there."

Gaff downplayed his own chances. His previous best in a Brownlow count was just six votes last season but he collected 30 disposals or more on 13 occasions this season and kicked goals in six of them.

The Eagles will attend a Brownlow function at Crown Perth on Monday night and Gaff said the players would enjoy the function despite the fact the Grand Final on Saturday was their primary focus.

"It's obviously something that's hard to ignore," Gaff said.

"Part of Grand Final week is the Brownlow. Obviously we've got bigger things to think about. But we'll be going there tonight."
