The Brisbane Lions are pleased to welcome 15 year-old Olympian Brittany Cox as an official member of the Club.

The young skier was recently signed up as a 2010 Victorian family member by her grandfather Len Cox who is a Life Member of the Club.

Cox is Australia’s youngest person to compete in the Winter Olympics since 14 year-old Aileen Shaw competed in figure skating at the 1960 Squaw Valley Games and the youngest competitor of any nation at this year’s Olympics.
The teenager from Victoria’s Mount Beauty has been skiing moguls competitively since the age of eight and came to prominence earlier this year after impressing with a string of stellar performances in her first ever appearance at the World Cup.

Cox was then selected alongside reigning Olympic champion Dale Begg-Smith and Ramone Cooper in Australia’s mogul skiing team for the Vancouver Games.

She narrowly missed out on reaching the women’s moguls finals at Cypress Mountain on the opening days of the event despite putting together a solid run to score 19.87. With the top 20 skiers advancing to the final - Cox finished in 23rd place.

The Club wishes to congratulate Brittney on her achievement in representing Australia at the Vancouver Games and looks forward to monitoring her future success in the sport.
