Jamison, 24, has played 59 AFL games since the Blues secured him with pick 17 of the 2007 NAB AFL Rookie Draft.
The club recently approached Jamison's manager, Nigel Carmody from Elite Sports Properties, to begin negotiations and he was delighted with the speed at which a deal was able to be done.
"It's obviously a really positive thing for me and it's great to get it done pretty early so I can just concentrate on the season now," Jamison said.
"As AFL players we're probably in a bit of a different position to a lot of people in that we get the contract first and then do the work after. I understand that it's a show of good faith by the club and now I've got to repay them for that faith.
"I'm really looking forward to finding some form and concentrating on the year we've got ahead of us, which will hopefully include a lot of finals football.
"I couldn't even tell you if there was any interest from other clubs, but it wouldn't have mattered anyway. I was always going to sign with Carlton and I'm rapt to be staying here for another three years."
Jamison has come a long way since battling to get onto Carlton's list as a lightly framed 20-year-old.
Despite training with the Blues in the lead up to the '07 rookie draft, he was so unsure of getting picked up that he sat in his car in the club's car park as the draft unfolded before finally getting the phone call that changed his life.
He battled groin and shoulder injuries early in his career, but soon claimed the mantle of Carlton's first-choice full-back and played all 23 games of the Blues' 2010 campaign.
"When you first get to the club everyone always tells you time goes by quickly and it really has flown by," he said.
"I had to learn things pretty quickly early on, but I couldn't have had a better time at the Blues and I'm really looking forward to my future at the club.
"I think we're really poised for some success. I've only played the one final and I'd be disappointed if I wasn't able to add to that this year and in years to come."
