RICHMOND midfielder Richard Tambling says Saturday night's 'Dreamtime at the G' match against Essendon is a chance to get his side's season back on track.

The Tigers have been playing solid football, but have played the top three teams and St Kilda in the last month and haven't registered a win.

But the 21-year-old said this weekend’s clash was a golden opportunity to grab four points.

"We've been coming close to the top teams in recent weeks, and this is one that we're expected to win,” Tambling said.

“So it's good to be able to get out there in the Dreamtime game and try and get a win up.

"We're all upbeat and we know we're playing some good footy, so if we can keep doing it this weekend, it'd be good."

The Bombers have the leakiest backline in the AFL, having lost by more than 10 goals in each of their last three outings.

Tambling said going into the match as favourites brought some pressure.

"But we're just going to go out there and try and play the footy we have been for the last month, and hopefully [the result will] take care of itself.

"[The Bombers] live for these big games, and they've got a few players back, so they're almost back to picking from a full list, apart from Alwyn Davey, so they're definitely going to come out firing."

Tambling has been running through the midfield this season, and has appreciated the faith shown in him by the match committee.

"I feel more comfortable – I can't control anything outside of my footy, so all I can do is go out there and play some footy. The coaches and the boys have given me a chance to play midfield this year, and hopefully I'll repay the faith they've had in me.

"It's all eyes on you, and you stand out a bit, and it gives you that confidence to get out there and flair your stuff."
