ANDY Otten looks gone for the season, Patrick Dangerfield should be fine, and Tom Lynch will be assessed throughout the week ahead of Saturday's match against Richmond.

That's the result from the Adelaide casualty ward following Sunday's 105-point hammering of the Brisbane Lions at the Gabba.

While Otten will have scans in Adelaide on Monday, there are grave concerns the versatile defender could have ruptured the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee.

"(There's) nothing really at this stage that we can be definite about, but it’s obviously a serious knee injury," Adelaide coach Brenton Sanderson said post-match.

The 25-year-old was stretchered off in the second quarter after falling awkwardly in a marking contest.

Both players left the field during a dramatic second quarter.

He sustained a similar injury to the opposite knee that cost him the entire 2010 season.

Lynch was also stretchered off during the second quarter after his head collided with Justin Clarke's hip.

But in good news for both Lynch and the Crows, he was diagnosed with just a jarred neck after being rushed to hospital for x-rays.
Lynch will return to Adelaide on the same flight as his teammates.

Dangerfield sent his seemingly weekly scare through the coaching staff when he hobbled off in the final quarter with a hyperextended right knee, before returning to play out the game.

"Once again, I’m guessing most of the focus in Adelaide this week will be about Dangerfield’s ability to overcome injuries and try to get up," Sanderson said.

"It’s a really important game for us next week.

"We would never take a risk with any player, but particularly one of your most important assets. We won’t play him if he’s not right to play.

"He recovers really quick, he does everything right, he does everything possible to prepare himself to play well each week. Fingers crossed he gets up, because we’ll need him next week."

Sanderson said the Crows had the depth to cover any shortfall they might suffer out of the Lions match.

He said Scott Thompson (hamstring) and James Podsiadly (rested) would be close to a recall against the Tigers, while they still had Brent Reilly, Ben Rutten, Jason Porplyzia and Sam Shaw playing well in the SANFL.
