Magpies’ season ticket and home-match ticket holders and Norwood season ticket holders will all receive admission to the double-header day as part of their memberships - that is, at no extra cost. They will be admitted to the members’ area.
Other Magpies and Redlegs club members (including Redlegs home match ticket holders and non-ticketed Magpies members) will be able to purchase a discounted entry ticket for just $18 (adult) or $9 (concession and juniors aged 15-18), while entry for children under 15 will be $2.50.
With SANFL entry normally $12 for an adult, this effectively adds an AFL game as a bonus for Magpies and Redlegs members either for free or for just $6, depending on their membership status.
General public entry for the double-header will be the standard AFL match rate of $26.50 (adult), $20.35 (concession) and $2.50 (children under 15 years).
SANFL General Manager - Football & Corporate Operations Darren Chandler said the affordable entry cost presented a unique opportunity for families to experience some of the best South Australian football on offer.
“Nowhere in Australia could you enjoy the live experience of a hallmark State League game and an AFL club’s season-opener for less than $20,” Mr Chandler said.
“For those who hold a Magpies or Redlegs season ticket or a Magpies home match ticket, admission will be at absolutely no extra cost.
“We have been able to offer this special deal to Magpies and Redlegs members as a ‘thank you’ for their support for their clubs and we hope they take up the opportunity to enjoy what will be a huge day of footy.”
Port Adelaide President Brett Duncanson said the day promised to be a very special one, celebrating both the achievement of ‘One Port Adelaide’ and Matthew Primus’ official home debut as the Power coach.
“This will be a very special day in the history of the Port Adelaide Football Club, with the Magpies and the Power re-united as ‘One Port Adelaide’ and featuring on the same day,” Mr Duncanson said.
“There will be a range of celebratory activities planned for the day, and to have a Magpies-Norwood SANFL blockbuster as part of it is just outstanding, with that rivalry such a big part of our club’s history.
“This will be a unique day and we are calling on all Port Adelaide and Norwood fans in particular to make sure they are at AAMI Stadium on April 2 to launch what is an exciting new era in SA football, with Matthew Primus at the helm of Port Adelaide.”
The same admission structure will apply for Sturt Football Club members for the Round 10 Magpies v Double Blues curtainraiser on Sunday, June 5 before the Power v Carlton AFL clash.
