Mr Fantasy offers the good oil for your AFL Fantasy team
PEOPLE often ask others to pick on somebody their own size.
People should also pick on people their own age.
A recent relaxing stroll through a major supermarket was interrupted when a middle-aged woman began hurling abuse at a teenage employee.
The shopper - dressed and carrying a handbag as if money was not an issue – lost it because the youngster charged her for organic tomatoes, instead of the cheaper roma variety found in her trolley.
"I'm sticking up for the suckers who'd fall for your little trick," she said, hair poofed, as I waited for a genetically-modified chihuahua to stick its head out of her bag.
Just like you'd do on a footy field when a young teammate is getting picked on, I decided to intervene.
I was faced with the usual response when she asked me to mind my own business, looking around for support like I was the one that was out of line.
I wished her well as she picked up her bags and turned her heels.
Picking on some poor new worker must be her idea of winding down.
Both the Demons and the Giants have faced similar bullies of late, dwarfed by more experienced and angrier opponents, but they get a chance to pick on somebody at a similar level this week.
The teams occupy the bottom two spots on the AFL ladder, but one side has a superior group of youngsters making waves in the AFL Fantasy world.
The kids at Greater Western Sydney are particularly impressive, with Adam Treloar (89.81), Taylor Adams (79.92), Toby Greene (78.57) and Stephen Coniglio (76.69) all enjoying very good seasons. And that's without mentioning man of the moment Jeremy Cameron, averaging 69, including a high score of 107 in 2013.
Melbourne has two impressive AFL Fantasy debutants in Dean Terlich (78.07) and Matt Jones (73.94), but both were recruited as mature-age picks.
I'm tipping a teenage uprising, with the Giants to get home on the back of some of their youthful Dream Team stars.
Mr Fantasy's trade recommendations
Ins: Brodie Grundy (Collingwood)
As the season goes, it gets harder to find bargains. Grundy's teammate Darren Jolly may be back, but the young man looks a ruckman for the future with an impressive 92 on debut for the Pies. Trade out one of your bench big men with a bit more value to make a nice little profit.
Outs: Matthew Boyd (Western Bulldogs)
Once an AFL Fantasy midfield lock, Boyd has had a year he'd rather forget, playing just 10 games this year and he finds himself out again this week. His breakeven this week would have been 149, showing that he has been far from his best.
