GOLD Coast has quickly turned its attention to taking down premiership fancies Greater Western Sydney following Saturday night's shock loss to the Brisbane Lions.
The Suns were heavily favoured to beat their Queensland rivals in the opening round, but were blown away in the first 20 minutes and never fully recovered.
Speaking on Tuesday afternoon, young midfield leader Touk Miller said there was no panic at the team review, but rather, constructive feedback.
"It's more about areas we can improve rather than just whacking people and (concentrating on) things we did poorly," Miller said.
"It's more about how we're going to get better."
The 21-year-old was his team's best player against the Lions, finishing with 17 contested possessions in his 27 disposals, and adding six clearances, five tackles and a goal.
He conceded the Suns "might not have been mentally switched on" in the opening exchanges, but paid his opponents credit for their intensity.
Miller said it was important to quickly turn their attention to the Giants, who are coming off a 56-point hiding from Adelaide.
Gold Coast won just once on the road last season, but the third-year player said that was of little concern.
"I have no issues that what's happened in the past is not going to affect us, and going forward we can knock them off," he said.
"They'll have a point to prove as well, especially on their home deck.
"It'll be excellent for us to go down there and give them a run for their money.
"We know they're premiership contenders and it'd be really good to knock them off."
